  1. I think your cultural background plays a huge role in defining your opinions and values. The cultural influence is something unavoidable, something you don't clearly see affect you. Growing up in America with students from many different backgrounds, I could see that my Korean background affected my opinions and how I viewed certain things. I could also see that I shared similar opinions with other Korean students. But it's also important to be able to see that it is your culture that shapes your thoughts, and that other cultures might foster different thoughts in their peoples. If you only grow up within your culture, you kind of become closed, and you think that everyone in the world shares your views.
